Tabaxi

Ancient wizards preformed dark rituals to create being of beast an man. the most stealthy and deadly of them all was named the Tabaxi. They have since become a storied and varied race and to say they are merely a monster created in a lab is severely mistaken
They are usually a lazy breed and very territorial. Many of the tabaxi find a place to call their own and will defend it to the death. The ones that prefer to travel are said to be looking for their home. young tabaxi tend to roam until they find their forever home. In Tabaxi cultures these tabaxi that wander are called "strays" The tabaxi had a native island but when the Orc Crusaders came through their lands some were taken as slaved and moved about during the times of the crusades. During the time of the crusades the tabaxi were hunted and poached for their skins by the Orcs and some were kept as enslaved pets. The orcs didn't see them as a intelligent race and would treat them as mere animals
Their homelands is mostly jungle. They have little as far as natural enemies. they like a fun game, something small that they can hunt and will run from them. they hunt and eat until they are full and will spend the rest of the day resting with some light activity in the tribe. The tabaxi don't strive to reach high levels of technology and prefer the life of a hunting tribe. they see agriculture and farming as more effort than necessary. Especially after the crusades they stay away from the others intelligent races. They speak their own language that is mostly based on body language and quick words. others have a hard time interpreting the language. The names are based on things that they've seen or their parents saw. its unsure if it is important to their life process. Some names are like Cloud on the mountain, Desert rose on a hill, burning flame outside, bookshelf with the shiny.
There are many variations to the tabaxi. Some are large and others are small and dexterous. their furs have many patterns and colors depending on the jungles they grew up in. The males and females look similar with the slender traits being more common in the females. All tabaxi are rather tall and slender.
The tabaxi worship J'esha the god of silence and meditation. they spend many hours a day meditating and communing within themselves. They do not believe in personal wealth and will only seek treasure out of a curiosity and once the object is acquired its almost immediately discarded and uninteresting, they love puzzles and mind games. They are skittish an unpredictabole and will shift their obsessions constantly.
