Dragins of all kinds have been decimated in numbers and they were hunted in large quantities due to the destruction they had been causing in a great area near the gates. After being driven from the area the few remaining that survived told of their experiences and speculations that drive them to their fury.

A giant agreed to be the ambassador for the dragons. He talked to many cites and heard the rumors of the fey gates and went to them to ask some questions about the creation of this technology. He gathered sll the information he could and returned to the dragons woth this news. Dragons were awestruck that this creation caused them such pain and came to the conclusion that the fey magic being manipulated in the way it was caused a major strife within the dragon kind and would sever their magic and their minds from their body. The ambassador returned to the elves to plee for the disassembly of the fey gate so the dragons may return to their homes. The elves did not agree to the terms. They spent nearly 100 years on this gate making sure it was perfect. They couldn't destroy something they worked on so diligently.   The firbolgs were split by the decision to go to war with dragons as they were the creation of the fey and giant kind coming together. and as giants were on the side of dragons there was infighting within firbolg communities. A majority stayed clear of the war entirely and moved deeper into the feywilds or into the mountains in isolation. Some joined with the armies of either side and became military generals with specific knowledge on theitr side that could turn the tide. Some of these firbolgs remained in the society they fought for but firbolgs in general are rare in the current age   The Giantkind have been long standing allies with the elementalkin such as genie, azer, and other such elemental beings. They brought them into the battle with the side of dragons numbering into the 100,000s. With them stood some nations of men that may have already been akin or living with the giants or dragons. But the nation of the fey was powerful as well, with all the powers of nature to bring to bear against the onslaught of the giantkin. They became entrenched and forests wouldn't allow easy passage for the lumbering army of the giantkin. They were constantly attacked and pestered. food supplies tampered with or stolen.   the elves eventually bowed to the might of the giants and destroyed the fey-lines and sealed off the technology. to this day dragons are weary of elves in ostrio as they have seen terrible things at their hands.
