Physical Description

General Physical Condition

The super-soldier serum that Cpt. Wilson received from S.H.I.E.L.D. has molded his body into peak human perfection. This gives him an accelerated healing factor and metabloism.

Special abilities

  • Artificially Enhanced Physiology- Cpt. Wilson's enhanced physiology has no superhuman powers, although as a result of the Super-Soldier Serum, he was transformed from a frail young man into a "perfect" specimen of human development and conditioning. He is classified as enhanced human. He possesses powers superior to any Olympic-level athlete that has ever competed. Also, the Super-Soldier Serum physiology is definite, meaning that if Cpt. Wilson chooses to live an unhealthy lifestyle, none of his powers would weaken, and the Super-Soldier Serum in his bloodstream will keep him in top physical form. Famed geneticist, Dr. Miles Warren, once theorized that as long as some of the serum remains in Cpt. Wilson's body, it would be able to reproduce itself and sustain Cpt. Wilson's powers.
  • Peak Human Strength- Cpt. Wilson's physical strength is enhanced to the very peak of human potential, making him consistently able to sustain lifts 800 lbs (363 kg)
  • Peak Human Speed- Cpt. Wilson can move at speeds equal to that of the absolute finest human athlete, being capable of running at a sustained 30 mph (48 kph He was able to complete a 40-yard dash in 3.82 seconds, or a mile "in just over a minute."
  • Peak Human Endurance- Cpt. Wilson's body automatically eliminates the excessive build-up of fatigue-producing chemicals in his muscles; giving him exceptional endurance. He could also resist the freezing cold waters of the Arctic.
  • Peak Human Agility- Cpt. Wilson's agility is amplified to the highest human potential.
  • Peak Human Senses- Cpt. Wilson's senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch are enhanced to the highest limits of human potential.
  • Peak Human Reflexes- Cpt. Wilson's reflexes are amplified to the highest human potential, and he is said to have a reaction time ten times faster than a normal person. He has been known to dodge gunfire from multiple shooters simultaneously.
  • Peak Human Durability- Cpt. Wilson's durability is amplified to the highest human potential making him very durable. This has allowed to survive many forms of extensive punishment throughout his career that would injure an ordinary man.
  • Peak Human Mental Processes- Cpt. Wilson's mental performance is greatly enhanced allowing it to operate in the most advanced and rapid manner possible. His mind also processes information quickly, giving him an accelerated learning aptitude; for example, deceased weapons master/black ops S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, Clint Barton, once stated that Cpt. Wilson can learn and master any weapon within seconds. He possesses an eidetic/photographic memory and perfect recall, meaning he never forgets what he sees and experiences, paired with the ability to speed read, and can thereby intuitively understand what's likely going to happen and how best to deal with it. This enables him to remember any military tactic and apply it to any situation.
  • Accelerated Healing Factor- Cpt. Wilson's healing speed and efficiency is enhanced peak ability, meaning he heals faster than the average person. The white blood cells and Super-Soldier Serum in his body are efficient enough to fight off most microbe, foreign body, and other pathogens from his body, giving him a high immunity to all infections and diseases. He is also more resistant to knockout and hypnotic suggestion, though is not immune. This was tested when he came in contact with prisoner #4691 a.k.a. Zebediah Killgrave, the Purple Man, during a mission to apprehend the criminal.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The most recent inheritor of the Captain America mantle after President Bucky Barnes, Captain Sam Wilson was born in Brooklyn, New York City to Darlene and Paul Wilson. Growing up in Brooklyn, Captain Wilson always admired Captain America as he was also a fellow Brooklyn native. Captain Wilson aspired to be the next Captain America and one day his dream came true. The Captain America at the time, James Buchanan Barnes, was searching for a younger sidekick to inspire the youth of America. While searching across the country, he returned to his home in Brooklyn where he found himself confronted by Baron Blood. During the conflict Blood seemingly obtained the upper hand until he was struck from behind with a trash can lid by Captain Wilson. Barnes noticed not only the teen's super-human strength but also his bravery which spurred Barnes to take him on as his partner. Captain Barnes and Wilson soon found out that Wilson was a descendant of a previous failed super-soldier experiment that seemed to have activated after remaining dormant in his family's DNA for two generations. S.H.I.E.L.D. supplied Captain Wilson with an enhanced flight suit and several other gadgets to aid him in his missions with Captain Barnes, leading Captain Wilson to adopt the alias of Falcon. As Falcon, Sam fought by Barnes' side and the two soon joined Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man, the Hulk, and the Wasp to create the Ultimates, Earth's Mightiest Heroes. After expanding the team, infighting and the loss of many of their team members, the Ultimates disbanded and Captain Wilson and Captain Barnes have returned to work for S.H.I.E.L.D. Captain Barnes has recently revealed that he intends to pass the mantle of Captain America onto Captain Wilson since his position as Captain America would interfere with his political duties as the President of the United States of America.                                                                                                                                                                                           - Former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nicholas J. Fury

Education

While Captain Wilson is intelligent, he hasn't officially graduated from any university. Instead, he focused on his position as Captain Barnes' partner and received most of his from S.H.I.E.L.D. staff. Captain Wilson excels in battle tactics and strategy being trained in combat by former S.H.I.E.L.D. Operative, Prisoner #19580: Anthony McWilliam Masters/Taskmaster.

Employment

Growing up in Brooklyn, Captain Wilson took many small jobs (sometimes multiple at the same time) just to aid his family. He didn't find a steady job until he became an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. While there were stronger and more physically fit candidates, Captain Barnes saw Captain Wilson's spirit and his good heart which reminded him of the original Captain America, Captain Steve Rodgers. This lead Captain Barnes to pick Captain Wilson as his sidekick. Versed in aerial combat, Captain Wilson used a wing pack made by Adrian Toomes to takes to the sky as Falcon, Captain Barnes' loyal partner. Together they fought side by side until it was time for Bucky to hang up the shield and head into office as the president. Bucky handed the mantle of Captain America over to Sam. As Captain America, Captain Wilson worked loyally for S.H.I.E.L.D. and even founded his own super-hero team, the Ultimates, which disbanded a few years after. Currently, Captain Wilson is employed as a member of the Avengers after a falling out with S.H.I.E.L.D. and takes on the universe's most dangerous threats side by side with his loyal teammates.

Mental Trauma

"Cpt. Wilson suffers from an inferiority complex due to the pressure of being the third Captain America. This leads to him doubting himself and often blindly following his superiors because he feels that the previous owners of the Captain America title would do likewise."                                                                                                                                                             - Dr. Leonard Samson, P.H.D.

Intellectual Characteristics

Cpt. Wilson's intellectual strength is seen in his strategic field plans. Cpt. Wilson is almost a perfect field leader, but his fear of not measuring up to his predecessors is a constant stumbling block that interferes with his management of any team he leads.

Quotes & Catchphrases
"We must all live in the real world... and sometimes that world can be pretty grim. But it is the Dream... the hope... that makes the reality worth living. In the early 1940's, Steve made a personal pledge to uphold the Dream... And as long as the Dream remains even partially unfulfilled, he couldn't abandon it! And neither can I."
