Followers of Rao

Though the followers of Rao are few and far between, they hold a notable amount of power. Many of his followers are scholars, nobility or otherwise in positions of power. Followers of Rao take his teachings to heart and do not condone any violence in most all situations. Furthermore, they take their religion very seriously and many of them will devote themselves to monastic traditions. Right now, there is a rich and devoted group in Kjarni actively working to solidify their beliefs into an organized religion. They have been moderately successful as of now and are currently constructing the first Church of Rao, set to be complete in a few years. Still, most followers are taught from their families and tend keep their beliefs to themselves, even though many disagree with them. Followers of Rao may work together or even attend services of other gods.

SAAMHI

Saamhi means, by definition, "non-hurting". It is core to the Raoan belief, one must not harm another living thing unless it is absolutely necessary, whether they be humans, plants, animals, or even demons. The definition of the phrase "absolutely necessary" is under debate between some Raoan sects. Some apply it to only (some) humans, while some take it as far as not eating and fasting until death as to not harm any life, and anything in between. Which belief Rao agrees with is unclear, with each sect believing they are correct.

LOGIC

Raoans believe in the power of logic and reason, they place great value on knowledge and studying. Many professors in Fairmarsh note that they, at least in some capacity, follow the teachings of Rao and would not be against seeing his teachings spread.

MEDITATION

Followers of Rao take meditations seriously, some will move into seclusion looking for complete nonstop meditation. Rao himself is known to put mortals (at times when he shows himself), or even other gods into a blissful state of meditation. His followers try to mimic that.

THE RELICS OF RAO

Rao is a quiet god, he doesn't often interfere in the dealings of mortals. That being said, however, there are rumors of some of his relics being left behind from years past. Some are said to be powerful enough to scare away demons at the very mention of them, while others will calm an aggressor to try and teach them the ways of Rao.
