Arima Jioji

The Merchant Prince

Former Daimyo of the Arima Clan.
Jioji led the Arima clan for much the past seven years, having inherited the clan at 22 from his father Arima Junkasu. As he was a young daimyo, the question of succession immediately arose, causing him to adopt his brother Hotaru as his heir until such time as he could produce one himself.
Jioji's quest to secure an heir resulted in him taking a total of seven concubines. Due to his competitive nature, he pledged he would only take as a concubine those who could defeat him in a game of their choosing.
He died under mysterious circumstances in the year 1500 of the Era of Jade.

Despite having the traditional Arima aesthetic of long hair and unblemished skin, Jioji is unusually tall and strong for his perceived lifestyle. He has excellent physical conditioning, and spends a significant amount of time and money on physical pursuits.

Jioji's quest to secure an heir has resulted in him taking a total of seven concubines. Due to his competitive nature, he pledged he would only take as a concubine those who could defeat him in a game of their choosing. The seven concubines are
Kaioko, who defeated Jioji in a game of Shogi, the only person to have done so so far Ekoro, who won a game of Cee-lo and is the only one who won on a game of chance, and remains a renowned gambler Aiko, who defeated Jioji in a naginata duel and serves as his bodyguard Emi, who won a speed painting contest where each had to paint the other as quickly as possible. Despite finishing first, her painting had almost twice the detail as Jioji's Hitomi, who won a karuta contest and has become the court poet Hanako, who won a horse race against both Jioji and Hotaru Kana, who won the most famous of these contests
