Rekkstoth (WRECK-stor-the)

Rekkstoth means "Warrior's Landing" in Gorl, and many sailors from Sarkara and beyond refer to the town by this, its Sarkaran name. It can be considered the capital of Gorlmark in many ways, though truthfully, the splintered and fiercely independent tribes of the Gorl resist the idea of having any permanent seat of power. The High Chieftain of the Gorl have at times resided in Rekkstoth, and at other times not, but more importantly, the "Alting" (the Great Counsil) is located here. The Alting is an ancient wooden building, that serves one purpose: it houses the gathering of all the chieftains of the Gorl, when a special counsil, also called an Alting, is called, a right that can be invoked by any chieftain of the fifteen tribes. This, more than anything makes Warrior's Landing the defacto capital of the lands of Gorlmark, if they can be said to have one at all. The city isn't very large, compared to other cities in Sildair, but it is a bustling and multicultural place none the less, with people from all over Sildair coming and going, because of the ever active merchant harbour.
