Session 15: No Free Favors Report

General Summary

Before leaving the city of New Silmarion, our heroes decided to attend to some things. Some sought merriment, others knowledge. Giovanni , Ken Thunderborne , Felix, and Rewa all took to the streets to celebrate their victory in the arena! After a night of merrymaking, they found themselves awakening in various compromising positions: Gio changed his name, Felix had a night of fun, and Ken found himself in the loving embrace of a public statue.
Wyndelleu Coriolys snuck away in the night to visit the Exalted Archive of Arkan , her old home. Vyetta was able to catch her leaving and decided to follow. Together they snuck into the Archive and did some research, both by consulting the library's extensive collection of lore and by speaking with Wyndelleu's old friend, Urelic. Their encounter with Urelic gained them some info about the possible origins of Wyndelleu's staff and left a bad taste in Urelic's mouth after Wyn and Vyetta questioned the nature of the deity Arkan. From the library, Wyndelleu found and consulted an ancient tome, A Recounting of the Black Years, in an attempt to learn more about the strange, dark ruins they encountered on their trip from Vella to New Silmarion. In this tome, they learned the legend of Lord Nazarick, his Black Princes, and their tombs.
Acting on the knowledge gained from Urelic, the next day Wyndelleu, Felix, Giovanni, and Rewa head to the shore of the lake that rests beneath floating New Silmarion. After diving to the lake's deepest depths, Wyndelleu was met with visions of a massive beast beneath the lake and mountains, along with innumerable glowing eyes. Her staff abandoned her to join the glowing host, but not before Wyndelleu was offered a gift. Her eyes took on a silvery glow, and her usually insubstantial wings flared to life with silver-blue light.
After, Giovanni led the group to consult with Master Sha, Grandmaster of The Temple of the Shining Palm. It was then that she told them of The Prophecy of the Shining King and inducted them into the ranks of her secret society, who seeks to protect the knowledge of the Shining King and one day, if necessary, will awaken him and his great host when the word's need is most dire.
Now the party heads to meet with Melba Hornhollow to discuss terms for their job to guard her merchant fleet on its way to Pyrios.
