Maeno
Maeno
Maeno was born in the summer of 1905, somewhere in the forest. She was a calm baby and a watchful child.
She lived an idyllic life on the land with her parents, and when she was still a child was told she came from a long line of warriors. When she became a young woman, her father, Tesuta, told her that one day, she would inherit her grandfather's gift. But she wasn't interested. She was in love with a young man, who was, like her, Cheyenne. His name was Deerchild. They courted in the fashion of their people and eventually were granted permission by their Elders to join their lives together for all time.
Eventually, she gave birth to a son, who was named Albert.
With her last breaths, she spoke words that would bind her spirit to her small medicine bag that she wore around her neck. She intended to one day guide her descendant that would inherit the bag, and her gifts.
Anais, Maeno's great-great granddaughter, is that descendant.
