The Sjonderwold is a place that is as much shaped by its mythology as its geography, and history blends seamlessly with myth. Far to the east, the first border of the Sjonderwold is the Wyrmspine Mountains, which stretches from the Scalding Sea in the south all the way past the Stonewing Range and into Ondskapningland, the land of giants, where precious few dare to tread and even fewer return. To the west of the Sjonderwold is the Serpentsea, whose coasts are explored and fished by the smaller folk and whose deeper waters are the sole domain of the mountainously large craft of giants and the leviathans they hunt. Even the giants do not trifle with the strange creatures and currents that are found in the Scalding Sea, the southern border of the Sjonderwold. Finally, to the north, the Stonewing Range marks the barrier between the slightly more temperate lands of man and beast, and the frigid, unexplored domain of giants. The Sjonderwold is a place marked by division, both geographically and along more human lines. Mountain ranges like the Wyrmspine Mountains and the Drakeheart Peaks carve the land into areas both hospitable and otherwise. Unusual peoples have staked claims to the deep forests, mountain ranges, and even the caverns beneath one’s feet, making travel there difficult and even deadly to those who do not take care. The human people of the Sjonderwold have divided what remains amongst six clans of like-minded folk.
