Heaven's Fall

The project was named "Heaven's Fall" for both the machines purpose and the ambitions of those involved. It was this machine system that started the Fall and brought down the Lost Kingdom. Little know of its existence or purpose, even fewer are still living.
It seems to be a joint project of a group of individuals from many differing backgrounds. It utilizes knowledge from both the Church of the Grand Current Deity and Keepers of the Crystal. Especially with regards to information on Skyglass. The machine required many resources and attempts before a working prototype was built. It is unknown if, when, or how the machine was tested before being put into use.
It is a brutal machine that relied more on brute force than finesse. It was large and heavy, requiring it to be physically present on the island. The system needed multiple boosters to affect the entire Kingdom. The basic concept of how it worked is that, the machine would produce waves in predetermined areas. These waves disrupted the equilibrium of the numerous Skyglass deposits across the Kingdom. Which would in turn, nullify the Skyglass's ability to produce wind energy. And with the Skyglass no longer able to produce the energy needed to keep the Kingdom afloat, it plummeted.
Luckily for the citizens, this process was not instantaneous. There was enough time to notice and sound the alarm. Tragically however, not many were able to evacuate in time.
The machine could not be removed before the Fall, so it went down with its victims, where they rest together in The Abyss. However, the schematics still exist somewhere in the world and some of the individuals involved too. It would not be farfetched to say another could be built.
One wonders if those involved are able to sleep soundly at night, with the weight of the horrific toll and screams of the damned ringing in their ears.
