Parabor
Parabor is a small village situated within the Merriam Vale. It's small and quiet, and relatively unkown to the kingdom at large. It used to be the home of The Master, Elaria Feywing, before her tragic passing, as well as to you. The main exports of Parabor were silver and mithral, while locally it was known for its high quality ales. One road leads out of it, at the south, known as the Last Road, which is its only connection to the rest of Skylark. It has recently been overrun by undead, and seemingly made a major base of operations for the Pact of the Lich.
Government
Given the fragmented nature of Skylark, the local government is stronger than the global one, as is standard. The one responsible for running Parabor is Governess Judith Seagarten, who mostly keeps to herself and lets village residents do the same. She does go through the town once a year with the care of her personal guard to collect taxes.
Defences
There's a small local guard, although the governess can raise a larger militia in times of need.
Industry & Trade
The main exports of Parabor are minerals, so mining is a popular job. The Vale's many unexplored caves of the land also lend great to more explorative lives of adventuring. The local economy is defined by ales thanks to the lush grain fields east of Lake Miranthi. It is not uncommon for any other trade to have one single master in town, or be reliant entirely on imports from other towns and cities.
Assets
Parabor has a smithy, a trading post and a lower level magic shop.
Guilds and Factions
The Brewer's Guild controls ale manufacture and distribution in Parabor. Thanks to the flourishing industry, they're a major power in the town's politics.
The Miner's Guild is responsible for making sure mining in either of the town's major mountains is as safe as can be. They also control the export of ores. As mined substances are Parabor's largest export, they are one of the bigger powers in Parabor.
Points of interest
People coming to parabor often like it for its remote and quiet nature. People tend to keep to themselves, so it's easy to run here to escape a past. Such people often find good manual labor as well, which tends to be their preferred line of work. Fledgeling adventurers also often came to the town to seek the wisdom and training of The Master, but with her passing that will certainly change.
Tourism
Few people know about Parabor, and fewer still care for it. Still, ale enthusiasts are bound to hear about the local selection, and hobbyist geographers interested in the Merriam Vale at large need accomodation.
Geography
Parabor was built on mostly flat lands, with only a couple hills and humps. Still, it is almost back to back with a large mountain range known as the Cairgon Ranges, and is near many others. The town was founded right at the edge of Lake Miranthi and remains there still. It is nearby Dolor Forest as well.
Natural Resources
The nearby Cairgon Ranges are rich in silver. The Icebound Peaks up north are a great source of mithral. East of Lake Miranthi is a set of rich, primarily grain based fields. Although Dolor Forest is a great source of high quality pinewood, the residents of Parabor do not like to linger near it due to its awful curse.
