Basic Information
Anatomy
Cat humans are very similar to normal Humans. There are several differences though. First, they have cat ears and a cat tail. While the ears replace the human ears and can be found on the sides or the top of the head, the tail grows at the same position as the tail of apes. The ears vary in size but are generally bigger than the ears of humans and way more fluffy. The tail can be short only 30 cm or up to over a meter in length, depending heavily on the exact cat species that the cat-human resembles. While Lion Cat humans have generally shorter tails, the tails of tiger cats are far longer. Their eyes resemble these of cats but are able to see colors.
The bodies of cat humans are formed similarly to the cat they resemble, but most are very agile and fast. A cat human is generally slightly smaller than a general human.
Genetics and Reproduction
Cat humans reproduce just like general Humans, by sexual interaction. Two cat humans will always produce a cat human as a child, while interaction between a cat human and any other human or human-like species only has a chance of resulting in another cat human.
cat human females generally only carry several children per 9-month-long pregnancy. Single-child pregnancies are rare for cat girls. They normally give birth to 2 up to 9 children. Identical children, for example, twins, are very common.
Growth Rate & Stages
Cat humans have the same growth rate as Humans and are considered adults 18 years of age. During their childhood, cat humans are even more playful and adventurous than adults. Handling multiple cat-human children at once is near impossible.
Ecology and Habitats
Cat humans prefer temperated climate, and depending on the exact cat species, tropical and sub-tropical areas. They prefer to live in small groups, often families, in the same home, yet their daily activities are often done alone. Due to their adventerous spirits, most cat humans prefer the live in bigger cities and metropolical areas, while only very few of them decide to live in villages or smaller towns.
Dietary Needs and Habits
It is a myth that cat humans are full carnivores. Just like most human-like species, they are able to consume plant-based food. It is just that many of them prefer heavy meat diets. The body of a cat-human is an omnivore, but more focused on meat than on plant-based food. They can nearly get all nutrition they require out of a meaty diet and require very little plant-based nutrition. Their bellies of them are able to break down even raw meat if required and are hard to disturb.
Vegetarian or vegan cat-humans are rare as it requires a very intensive study of food to get a good and balanced plant-based diet that fulfills are requirements of the cat-human body.
Behaviour
Cat humans are incredibly adventurous and playful in their behavior. While they enjoy the company of others and enjoy living with family or friends together, in their daily lives most cat humans prefer to play a lone hand. They dislike depending on others and try to do most things themselves. More than most other Demi-Humans, cat humans need their time alone to regenerate and enjoy their "Me-Time".
They are not brave and will instinctively rather run away than fight a fight they may lose. If threatened and without a way to escape a situation, cat humans can become termagants and use their teeth and claws very precisely in fights. This behavior can also be triggered if someone enters their claimed territory, as cat humans are very territorial, especially against other cat humans. This territorial behavior is not limited to a place or their home, but may also be extended to loved people. Many call cat humans very captivating and jealous.
Similar to other subspecies of humans, cat humans have a tendency to use animalistic noises in their speech patterns. In the case of cat humans, it is mewing. This often follows a sentence or enters a sentence, or is used to put weight to certain words or actions.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Cat humans are individualists and enjoy time alone. They often live in small groups that share their home, but act alone while outside their own territory. Cat humans rarely feel lonely, even if they live alone and have little social contact. Isolation hits them way later than most other human-like people. Gaining the trust and companionship of a cat human can be hard, as they are very prideful and only accept a leader above them if it is beneficial for them. They care much for these that they allow them in their territories and are very protective parents and friends, who also give their loved ones more than enough freedom to make their own decisions.
Facial characteristics
Cat humans most often have cat-like eyes that have a predatory default look. Their teeth are often sharper than these of normal humans and pointy. Instead of normal ears, cat humans have cat-like ears.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Cat humans prefer urban areas and territories that allow them to outlive their adventurous spirits. Most live in the cities of the Slimean Lands, especially in the Nyahaven district of Neueisen.
Average Intelligence
Cat humans have slightly above the average intelligence of Humans and their subspecies. They are especially good at reading emotions and manipulating them with their own behavior and way of speaking. Most cat humans are very charismatic and fast thinkers.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Cat humans have excellent hearing, far superior to these of normal Humans. Their eyes can see movement very well, similar to real cats and they have a nearly unnatural sense of their surroundings. Even while in full sprint, cat humans can easily move in a way that none of their body parts kicks over anything on the ground and their feet always land exactly where they wanted to.
Civilization and Culture
History
Cat humans, especially cat girls, were a very famous part of human culture for thousands of years on earth. It is very likely that the myth of cat-like humans is born out of contacts with Bardor and the Neko species thousands of years ago during the first and second Pink Mist Storm. Especially the Egypt culture has many cat-human hybrid sculptures and famous figures.
In modern times, especially in anime and Western culture, the idea of cat girls became very famous. With the creation of the first Googirl and the possibility of DNA manipulations, it is only taking a very short amount of time before the first cat humans were transformed from willing humans in 2018. As one of the Artificial-Species of Slimea, cat humans quickly spread over Earth, but are still mostly concentrated in the Slimean Lands. They became very famous in the entertainment industry, especially as actors, idols, and musicians.
Common Myths and Legends
The modern cat humans as well as old myths around cat-like humans are most likely all having their origin in the contacts with Bardor and the tribes of the Neko species. For thousands of years, mystical figures existed in human culture, especially in old Egypt.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Cat humans often form relationships with other Human like species. They enjoy wrapping others around their fingers and dislike it if their partner restricts their freedom.
Trivia
- Catgirls are by far the most popular demi-humans in modern culture. It was a must-have for us authors of Slimea to have a representation of them in our world. After the Queendoms of Goldie became part of the greater Slimean Universe, we decided to let the cat humans be their own species that have their cultural origins on the cathumans of Bardor, which we began calling Nekos to differentiate them from the modern cat humans of Slimea.
