Session 1: The Sign of S

General Summary

Our story begins in a small town, secluded from the outside world. A town by the name of Presco. In this town are five intrepid adventurers. One old fellow by the name of Ruuch Caliban, visiting on "business". A bounty hunter by the name Vic 'The Bullet' Chambers, fastest gun in the west. And last but not least, a travelling band of performers; Usze'Taham the dancer, Lydia Rhapsody the musician and Adalai, the uhm... well he was there. One fateful morning, a strange yet very ordinary man holding a snake cane approached Ruuch, and handed him a letter signed off with a decorative S. The strange but ordinary man mentioned something about Ruuch's "business", to which Ruuch reacted surprised. He questions the man about it, but the man claims he is simply acting out his boss' orders. He then made his way back to the inn.   In that very inn, Vic, as well as the band of performers awaken from their rest to find the same letter on each of their bedside table. Vic had awoken far earlier than anyone else, and decided to visit the location early. The band after waking up hours later, make their way downstairs to have breakfast and discuss the letter they have received. At that point Ruuch Caliban makes his entrance, swinging open the creaky saloon doors. He walks over to the bar and orders a drink, then turns his attention to the three oddballs sitting at the table. Seeing they had received the same letter, he smoothly makes his way over and forces himself into the conversation. Adalai, being the friendly bloke that he was, does not see any harm in explaining everything, all the while Usze looks on in distrust. Lydia has no real reaction to the old wizard. Nonetheless after some small talk, they decide to go to the assigned location together as a group of four.   The location they were meant to head towards was a tomb in the graveyard of the town. On their way there, Ruuch spots a figure hiding on top of a hill overlooking the tomb. Ruuch sends over his hawk familiar to see who is spying on their meeting point, and it turns out it is Vic! He and Adalai approach, however Vic is already making his way down the hill towards the tomb entrance. The rest follow suit. There, two guards were standing outside the entrance and ordered them that only two people could go in at a time. The group forms a line, Adalai and Ruuch standing in front, followed by Usze next to Lydia and finally Vic and Treebark, his robot dog. Ruuch and Adalai enter, and the doors close.   Standing inside, there was an dench bearded man smoking a big pipe. There were two more guards and a pet Lizard at his side. It was an ambush! Outside the two guards start attacking the party members, and two more assassins jump out of the trees. After Lydia checks if team damage is on by accidentally making Adalai fall asleep, she turns one of the bow wielding assassins into a turtle, and hides him in a bush. Usze drops a tree on top of a guard that was beating the living shit out of them, and Vic succesfully shoots the other with so much force, only their booties were left standing. All the while Ruuch manages to fend off 2 guards, the pipe man and a lizard. After taking care of the outside forces, Usze kicks down the door (on top of sleeping Adalai) and out of fear, one of the guards runs off. The pipe man puts up a good fight, knocking out Ruuch, Adalai and Usze twice, and even Vic. Those who were downed, got a vision of a green glow, along with a voice. A voice telling them to go down into the tomb. After a long battle, the pipe man falls. The pet lizard seemingly died. Everyone who had fallen awaken, and they make their way down the tomb.   In there, they hear the same voice they heard in the vision. From the dark, a green-glowing eye emerges, and upon closer inspection, it turns out its a Nothic. Speaking slow and with an affection for the word "Yessss...", he asks the group to get rid of an amulet plagued by a shadowy spirit deeper in the tomb. The naïve Adalai went on first, followed by Ruuch and Lydia. Finding the amulet forming a fist against one of the coffins, they talk about what to do. After a short discussion, Ruuch decided to simply break it by force. It actually works, and after successfully getting rid of the spirit, he transforms the amulet of undeath into an amulet of rebirth (making it look like fancy golden dice). Walking back, the Nothic thanks our heroes and promises them he is in their debt. With that, the party makes their way back to Presco, having more questions than answers.
