Session 18: Kasugai Crow

General Summary

Session nr.18 26/04/2022   Tuesday, 26 April 2022 20:14   Zula, Sylveras, Markys and Nariko are making their way down south, following Sylveras' own map, along with his Raven's guidance. Without an Anrar, nor Elthé to make a tiny hut, they make a campfire to stay warm. Zula brings up how she misses the comfort, while Markys says he prefers the fresh air. Zula asks Sylveras how long he's been travelling with Nariko, and he mentions its only been a few months. Markys asks if Sylveras has any hobbies, and he shows off the finger puppet, claiming he talks to it now and then. Sylveras activates the puppet, and it grabs the soul of an individual named Vendran. As soon as the chat started, it also ends. Markys sits to the side, and begins sharpening his weapon to get out of the awkwardness of the conversation. As they travel on for the next few days, most of it is in awkward silence.   Finn and Elthé are now travelling down at high speed thanks to the Anrar. Elthé bombards Finn with rather silly questions about who he would choose to defend himself out of a list of random animals, numbers, etc. While travelling, Demise's abilities weaken, showing that Finn has no bond with the blade. eventually they meet up with the rest, and after a short catching up, Sylveras shares how his first undead target is merely a few hours away. They depart and eventually find a few whisps. A young voice asks them why they have come, and Sylveras shares he is here to send her to the afterlife. The young voice refuses, claiming it does not wish to move on. Then it lashes out. A battle ensues, which attracts the attention of nearby large spiders that join into the fray. After a lot of confusion and mental trickery, the party manages to break through and defeat the undead target.   The party begins to move southward, stopping to take a rest and set up camp. Elthé attempts and this time, succeeds in contacting another being that can answer lingering questions of the party. Sylveras goes first, and asks the being communicating through Elthé if the woman he sees in his memories truly is important to him. "Yes" the being answers. Next up is Finn, who asks if he is able to take on the abomination that resides north of Furanei, the one he's been collecting the keys for. "Soon" the being replies. Zula asks if her family is still in Furanei. "Partially" she's told. Markys tells Zula she can have his turn, and so she follows it up with asking if her son is still alive. "Yes" the being replies. Once she returns to her true self, Elthé sends a sending to the Queen of the Errano asking for the money that was promised to her. The Queen isn't ready to pay yet, as she is slightly busy at the moment.   That night, as Markys is still sharpening his weapon, Ukhbran attempts to speak to him. They talk about Markys picking up carving as a hobby. Zula asks Fin to give a more specific recollection of what happened at Suuth'Kallos, asking who this queen is Elthé keeps talking about. Finn tells her everything, from the founder's being power hungry, the Errano actually being good, and how he freed their Queen and sent her along with his and The Brjalao tribes to Snowcake. Zula needs a moment to process this. Markys speaks up asking what Finn was talking about, and Finn in summary says his tribe is on his way to Snowcake, leaving out the Queen part unintentionally.   The next morning after packing up their camp, Finn receives a letter in the form of an origami bird. Opening it up, it reads as follows:     To whomever it May concern,   You are formally invited to the late funeral/wake of Tendrin Nineways as his prior friends/allies in one weeks time at Khanharans crater, we know you can make it, where we will pray Joran may accept his soul.   Fear not, for as you remain in Khanharans, not a body will lift a finger to harm you lest they pay the price themselves. Unless you instigate, of course, I recommend you don't do that. Should you decide to come, Relas has a gift for you. See us this day as not the Hand, but as fellow mourners.   We await both your and your companions attendance.   Regards, Bluetip, on behalf of Relas Rainwinter and the Hand as a whole.     Finn shows the letter to the rest, and for now they decide it's best not to go, as The Glorious Hand are not only dangerous, but also have a bad reputation. Especially to Zula, as they were responsible for attacking her old hometown and Dust killing her Husband. Markys too, shares he wishes to go there only to cause havoc. Finn simply states it would be a bad idea to go, and claims he has mourned the death of his old ally his own way.
