Session 2: Shaun of the Dead
General Summary
Our heroes re-enter the town of Presco and spot a crowd. They join in to see what the fuss is about, and see the mayor on top of a podium. At his side, a well clad man with a nice sword. They are talking about activating a dome around the city using the "Heart of Presco", a large beautiful gem containing some sort of power. This piques Ruuch's interest, but it goes unnoticed by the rest. The mayor and the man, introduced as "Darrin", wish to activate it as a defence mechanism against an invasion of Boholians, a folk that they were at war with long ago, however they were at a truce for a long time at this point. Darrin implies they are coming back though. The mayor warns that whatever attempts to enter the dome without permission (using the gesture), gets evaporated. It will be activated overnight. The group go to their inn and rest up. After a nice evening of drinking and feasting, a few of our heroes go to bed, however Ruuch heads outside wishing to find the heart of Presco. Looking up, he witnesses the dome being activated.
The next morning, our group is downstairs having their breakfast again. Vic demonstrates how Treebark works, when suddenly the town Sheriff walks in and approaches them. He came to inform the residents of a murder that had taken place the night before, and asks for their assistance in researching it. They decide to go along, and after a small break where the band went to a park, Vic went on top of the roof of the inn and saw Saan wave at him, they all hear a scream and make their way to the location. There, they find a woman dead on the floor. Inspecting the body, they fail to locate the cause of death. Sherriff Shaun stayed with the body. Adalai summons his two gay wolves, and after sniffing the body, run off towards the road and they dig up a small metal tooth-like object.
Suspecting the mayor and/or Darrin, the group make their way into his office and demand to inspect the whole building. The mayor calls for the guards, but Ruuch turns around and hands them a bag of gold pieces, successfully bribing them into letting them interrogate the mayor. Unfortunately despite being a literal sack of shit, he seems free of guilt. Using the gay wolves, they find another tooth-like object within a book that was in the room Darren was staying at. Unfortunately Darrin was already on his way back to Trascarr. They walk out, and another scream is heard. They run over, and find the body of the sheriff Shaun motionless on the road. Standing over him, Darrin.
