Session 4: The Rose's Heart
General Summary
We woke up in a tavern. Usze'Taham checked up on Adalai and went downstairs to talk to Lydia about a dream they had. Vic's dorm is empty. Usze tells Lydia he was contacted by they eye in his dream. The Eye gave Usze a choice to get him as patron or rescue his old patron. The eye threw Adalai and Usze in some sort of labyrinth where they had to battle "evil" to rescue his patron, they succeeded(?) In there they gathered info on the heart of Presco, it isn't just a magical stone, it’s a coffin for a spirit. A woman's cursed soul is within that stone, her name is Presco. In their dreams they got hints that the City of Presco isn't as safe as it seems and the party has business in Kalanthus, being that Saan, the mysterious snake man has his home there. So in preparation for the travel Adalai buys 2 warhorses for way too much money. Ruuch wanted to buy a wagon, turns out Vic, being the chad he is, payed the blacksmith in advance.
Both Adalai and Ruuch return to the Inn. Usze fills in Ruuch about the dream. There was a beast that was powered by a crystal-like creatures, there were black sludge creatures, upon touch the person that touches it disappeared, The Sludge fought the crystal-like creatures. The crystal, the sludge and the crew are the parties involved in the dream. Adalai's water spirit lives in his amulet, he doesn’t respond to him anymore.

Ruuch shares his side of the story, says he is apparently a member of a magical order being sent here by them to return the heart of Presco to them. The gem will be used to protect a greater area. He's uncertain about the creatures they saw in their dream. We learn that "Presco" was the name of woman that lived here in the city, her father was friends with the eye. Somebody cast a curse on her and the eye sealed her in a stone to make sure she was safe, thus creating the heart of Presco.
The crew returns to the eye. Asking to remove the curse from the woman or to separate the stone from the woman so that we can take the stone. If her spirit is pulled out of the stone, her spirit dies, and Presco will no longer be under protection. We could find the one who cursed her, and have it removed. Nope we've killed the person who cursed her (Darrin?).
We need to replace the stone with something that is precious to her; a rose. Considering the area is void of them the crew goes on a quest to find a rose or seed. Ruuch tells the scientists he will postpone taking the gem for a bit. Cute little halfling gave him a receipt for his carriage (maybe will come in handy later if Adalai blows all our money again). We leave Presco into the carriage.

Encounter: we encounter sturges. An arrow comes out and explodes some of em. Lydia sleeps them and a man walks out and blasts the sturge. It's the man Lydia turned into a turtle in the first fight. They offer rose seeds. Turtle man and glaive guy who's with him ask for a rose and wave us goodbye. We return to Presco and return to the eye.

Adalai was too tired to make seeds grow, so the eye had to do it for him. We need to check with the Heart of Presco if she finds it worthy as a replacement. The eye wants to see this interaction, turns invisible and follows on us. After we arrive at the townhall, the eye turns visible, the mayor faints upon seeing him. Ruuch floats he mayor into the room like a fat balloon. The mayor wakes up and tells about how the dome vanished for a few minutes.
We tell the mayor the truth about the heart of Presco, that it shields the town from the sludge creatures. The plan, to split the spirit from the stone, leave it in a rose and take the stone to "the Order". The Order appears to be something Ruuch made up, but only Usze knows because of conformation of the eye. Also the mayor knows, because he's shady as shit. The mayor offers Ruuch a job as sheriff.
The person that goes to deliver the rose is Adalai, he gets transported into the heart of Presco. The eye sees great red clouds that bar his vision. He attempts to pull Adalai out of the heart and succeeds. Lydia is the next person to go in, succeeds in putting Presco into the rose. The stone is now empty. Ruuch has the crystal. The rose will be going to Kalanthus to visit the eye's brother as a favor to get the gem. Prescar, Dorthen. Lydia carries the rose. The crew leaves Presco.
