Ep. 302 The Gods Gifts

General Summary

“Soooo!! This is great!! You know each other!!” - Derek
"Last time we saw you guys, you kinda tried to screw us over.” - Slader

Luckily for our wayward adventurers, not everyone in this city has it out for them. The BROs and Derek happily welcome them into their new lair, where the BROs (and Connor, Dreyfuss' young son) found refuge on their journeys West. After some catching up and putting water under bridges, the party secures six new allies. And now its time to go back to the sewers.

Carric waits for them back at the temple and prepares to let them trek further into the catacombs. It appears only our party has felt any sort of magical pull from below the ground. And what they find down there is not at all what was expected.

Our adventurers are met with series of traps, monsters, and dead ends as they delve into a maze deep beneath the temple. But luckily for our audience at home, they choose not the left, but the right path. This leads them straight into what seems to be a massive antechamber, dedicated to five statues standing at the end of the room. After completely failing to gather their collective knowledge about religion, it takes them a while to realize what exactly this room is. A temple beneath a temple, dedicated to the divine Husoris and his four children.
"Be Brave"
"Be Humble"
"Be Honorable"
"Fight. Stand Strong Before Death..."
Baelai is beckoned forward to the center statue, witnessing a scene that Farryn and Flint cannot. He is grasped by the figure of Husoris and filled with immense hot magic that bursts forth and surrounds Flint and Farryn. As his vision returns, he finds his pendant and locket transformed into a magical talisman. His party members are rightly concerned, but Baelai is unaffected as he opens up to them and shares the effects his Champion's Dream had on him. With this new advancement in his magic, he hopes to better serve his friends, family, and keep them safe.
"Tribe" - Flint 2020

Three pillars rise from the ground by the alter of the room, bestowing to the adventurers three items; Deseldo's Plough, HyeoJun's Hammer, Snowmor's Sword. It is believed that the three of them may only choose one of the three items, but each adventurer has their eyes set on a different item.

A Humble Warrior must be willing to work the land to provide for their people.
An Honorable Warrior must be willing to build homes and roads for their people.
A Brave Warrior must be able willing to defeat the enemies who threaten their people.

Much conversion and argument ensues, trying to decide which of the three must be chosen.

And then Flint grabs the sword.

Farryn grabs the hammer.

Baelai takes the plough.

The ground around them starts to tremble violently and a gust of wind picks up around them as the pillars in front of them crumble. There is no time to waste; the gods are trying to bury them beneath the earth.

Our adventurers hurry out the nearest exit, fighting past the crumbling earth and leftover monsters and traps. Things seem under control until Flint erects a wall of fire, Baelai abandons the plough and sprints away in fear; and as his companions follow him down the long passageway, they find him scrambling for a nonexistent exit. For they had found their third, and final, dead end.
