The Great Beast (a.k.a. Leviathan)
"The Great Beast. It's a fairly vague title, if you're unaware of the treacherous waters that stir along the western coasts. Sometimes this beast is called Leviathan, after the beast that guarded the entrance to Hell in human mythos. Daemon know of it as the Quicksilver Beast, as it is known to attack fast, and hard. Mother would be proud of its accomplishments."

Divine Symbols & Sigils
The Silver Carp
This symbol is supposed to resemble Leviathan itself. Fish is understandibly hard to come by in even the most coastal of cities, due to the Beast's all-watching eye. It was, however, the food ticket for many after the events of The Great War, which meant that they were forced to send Tributes to the Beast in order to fish.
The Inverted Crucifix
You wouldn't think that this unholy Beast would share symbolism with a holy figure in human mythos. Back in the day, when human sacrifices were used to sate the Beast, the cloth-wrapped sacrifice would hang upside-down on a cross, and be tossed into the ocean. They believed that the Beast would bite the head first, causing the least amount of suffering. To no surprise, Leviathan's card in human Tarot is The Hanged One.Tenets of Faith
- Obtain what you must have: it is worth the joy, no matter how fleeting it is.
- Recognize the accomplishments of others: this will push you towards greatness.
- Harness your feelings and put them to use: an emotion not honed is ultimately useless.
- Create goals, and respect them: if you make none for yourself, you'll only wallow for eternity.
Holidays
Sea Appreciation Week: Lune 78-84 [Cetos 22-28, or September 6th - 12th]
A holy week that, unusually enough, brings back the tradition of sending the Beast a tribute. It's sometimes referred to as a "Week of Thanks", as Leviathan's seas allowed humans to survive up to now. This week signifies Lune Vacation for school systems, and jobs usually have the latter half of the week off for employees.Divine Goals & Aspirations
To test humanity, is Leviathan's ultimate goal. How it goes about it is by protecting the oceans with which the humans fish. Leviathan is said to be the first being that was granted consciousness, as Mors came to be; as such, it appears to have had a ravenous appetite for milennia. There is no contest that the Beast claims parenthood over all sea beasts, and, like Artemis, is keenly aware of mortality.
Also like the Mother of Beasts, Leviathan experiences life and death tangentially: when it dies, its so-called "title" gets granted to the strongest Cetacean second to it. This means that, while Leviathan retains the memories of its past selves, each reincarnation has a distinct personality. All of them share the trait of schadenfreude, but the way that they go about it changes with each "version".
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Leviathan is best characterized by the thick, icy dome atop its head. A few other important features, besides its massive size, is the fact that it has three pairs of limbs. This Beast is said to be the ancestor to all living things; it having limbs but never approaching land may mean that the Beast likely has plans for the World's End. Being a Cetacean, it has a streamlined body that has a back accented by what looks to be overlapping hoods.
Leviathan is not known to appear in a human form-- rather, it is known for having a Champion that takes some of the features on their visage. These features are a bald head, a never-melting crest of ice, and a deep blue skin countershaded by the Champion's original skin tone.
