The Black Angels
It is said that the Black Angels originate from the early days following the formation of the island of Tir'Nisal, making the organization thousands of years old. The authority of the black angels is second only to the throne of Durat'Kur, they run a large portion of the day to day operations of the namesake city, and tends to have more troops patrolling the streets and manning the walls of the city than the royal standing army, and are generally better equipped a well. This organization uses a tiered hierarchy system as most military powers do, with the title of Archangel belonging to the organization's leader. Following the deity Amaunator, the Black Angels while having come from modest origins has employed much of the same adherence to bureaucracy to slowly obtain power over the years. Many mysteries surround the Black Angels including the origins and longevity of their leader Syldithas, how and why the organization was founded, and what their true goal is.
