Durat'Kur (City)
The city of Durat'Kur is built into the expanse of a canyon, while not only providing relative safety from attacks to the north, it also allows foodstuffs from the north to be lowered into the city on great winches and pulley systems. For the millions of people who live within the city walls, the booming metropolis is one of great wonder and joy. Seeing as the people's of Tir'Nisal has not seen war in many hundreds of years, it can be said that people in the area have a tendency to be carefree and honest. Although it is known that there are several major criminal organizations operating within the city, crime tends to be relatively low due to two major factors. Firstly, if found guilty of committing a crime, you are sentenced and executed by The Black Angels, this makes most people very unlikely to even attempt ill will against another. Secondly, it is said the Black Angels are able to peak into minds of the citizens, and rumors speculate that the Angels kidnap and perform experiments on those who even think about causing mischief.
Durat'Kur as a whole isn't a very well organized city. Homes, businesses, bars, etc just pop up where they are without much thought as to where or why so it is not uncommon to see temples nextdoor to booming taverns, whorehouses, so on and so forth. There are several navigation points throughout the city, starting with the main gates, heading directly north you will find yourself in front of the royal palace. To the east you can find the loading areas where foodstuffs are lowered into the city, and to the west you can find the cathedral housing the headquarters of the Black Angels.
Being the single biggest town on the island, Durat'Kur has massive markets, and if the item you are looking for cannot be found, or created, then the item simply does not exist, or so the saying goes. Traders from the mainland and other islands make their way here to trade, so it is not unusual to see persons from all over the world
