Soldiers' Twilight
The Soldiers’ Twilight, a wondrous and ancient tree near the Torriagewood Moonwell, holds deep significance for the FFolk people and the soldiers of Fort Vegapath. Once located outside the fort's walls, it was relocated during the Battle for the Moonwell to facilitate Arch Druid Fenster's use of Pass Plant during the conflict. Now a revered monument to The Fallen and a symbol of hope, the tree bestows blessings upon those who honor its sacred ground.
Description
The tree is a colossal specimen, its bark etched with the names of fallen soldiers from Fort Vegapath. It towers above the surrounding forest, its branches stretched towards the heavens. Each leaf carries a golden hue, shimmering in the moonlight and reflecting the ethereal glow of the nearby Moonwell. At the base of the tree stands a large, symbolic stone sarcophagus, intricately etched with the names of The Fallen soldiers of Fort Vegapath. This imposing monument serves as a focal point for those who come to pay their respects, providing a tangible reminder of the sacrifices made by brave warriors in defense of their people. Along the bottom ledge of the sarcophagus, visitors will find three offering pots, each bearing unique and intricate carvings. These pots serve as receptacles for tokens of remembrance, tribute, and prayer left by those who visit the memorial. Offerings often include small trinkets, handwritten notes, and food, each carrying the hopes and gratitude of those who come to honor The Fallen. The Three Shadows
A mysterious phenomenon often reported by visitors to the Twilight Memorial Tree is the sight of the shadows of three women near the front of the memorial. These ethereal figures are said to be a visage of The Sisters of The Twilight Song, watching over the souls of The Fallen and providing comfort to those who mourn their loss. Their presence, much like the tree itself, adds to the air of wonder and mysticism that permeates the area.Fruit of the Ephemeral Twilight
Rumors abound of the tree's unique fruit, the ephemeral twilight. The fruit is said to bestow power upon those who taste its flesh. However, none have yet grown ripe enough to eat, leaving the truth of these claims unknown.History
The tree's relocation during the battle for the Torriagewood Moonwell inspired FFolk soldiers to visit the tree and pray for good fortune and luck in battle. Recognizing the tree's significance, Halar, a denizen of Fort Vegapath and Paladin of Torm, constructed a formal memorial at the site. He later gifted the memorial to Kisarana at her request, granting her a powerful boon, which she used to cleanse the winter's cold from the area around the Moonwell.
