The shelves are lined with books, and the back room is filled with ingredients. The floor's inviting atmosphere is sure to welcome all those seeking to take the first steps in understanding the arcane.

The second floor of the tower is a place for those who seek to explore the boundaries of The Art. Its walls are lined with protective runes and barriers, providing a safe haven for those who wish to experiment with "non-traditional" and volatile magics. Here, dedicated students can find the resources they need to delve deeper into advanced studies and unlock the secrets of their own power.

Third Floor

Architect's Quarters

The third floor of the tower is off-limits to the common visitor, yet it is a unique and remarkable space. It is home to two of its architects: a former apprentice of the Blackstaff Academy and a kobold wizard obsessed with the stars. Together, they have created an atmosphere within the tower that is filled with intrigue and mystery. The private quarters are decorated with artifacts from their journeys, reflecting their individual passions, knowledge, and creativity. With its vibrant atmosphere, this floor of the Tower provides an escape from everyday life for its architects – a place to explore their imaginations and passions in a safe and secure environment.

Purpose / Function

The soldiers of Fort Vegapath can now further their knowledge of the arcane arts by enrolling in the Initiate Program at the Tower. However, one should know that the road to understanding The Art is long and arduous.   Along with their magical studies, initiates are expected to help maintain the grounds and assist in arcane research. As a result, each initiate develops a strong understanding of practical magic and learns to mend or clean items through magical means, as well as gain the ability to identify unknown items or comprehend unfamiliar languages.   Those seeking to continue their pursuit of greater power advance to the rank of adept and specialize as a Scholar or Field Mage. Scholars study the intricacies of The Weave and seek to unravel its complexity. These adepts learn basic spells thought to be fundamental to any wizard. It is through a firm understanding of these fundamentals that allows them to better survive the world outside the tower. Field Mages hone the more practical aspects of The Art. They master basic evocation spells, allowing them to hurl flames and create electric discharges from their fingertips. The most advanced students further develop these skills to create arcane arrows that track their targets.   After some time, the most skilled adepts can be promoted to wizard; however, no soldier has managed to do so yet.
