AURE (ˈɔɹ.ə)

Ambient Ultra-Ray Emanation, also known as AURE, is the emanation of ultra-radiation that surrounds a creature. Nuemans have adapted to be able to control their AURE and harness the metaphysical properties of supertime.

Description

AURE controls the range in which a Nueman is able to oscillate their strings, called "chords", to manifest different powers. A Nueman cannot oscillate in frequencies outside of their designated AURE. However, this limitation does not directly impact the potential power one can achieve, as a greater AURE is not inherently proportional to a more powerful being. This is due to the many techniques they use to artificially enhance their vibrato.
Every Nueman is born with a random AURE and this cannot be influenced by outside forces. This phenomenon is coined "AURE Randomization" and is subject to the properties of supertime.

AURE Detection

All Nuemans and even some inhumans have the ability to detect AURE. Humans are not able to detect it at all due to their lack of a sense capable of detecting ultra-radiation. For Nuemans, this sense grows with age and training. Expert chord users may be able to tell the specific frequency range that another user is able to manifest chords within, by examining their AURE. Novice users may only be able to tell the relative difference between how much AURE two or more users have rather than their specific frequency ranges. For example, two Nueman may have a similar amount of AURE but their frequency ranges are completely unique. Being able to tell the difference is a sign of an experienced chord user.
