Erandul has the dark skin, pale hair, and white eyes of all midnight elves.

Erandul possesses the standard elfish features, with the exception of his eyes, which are unusually large.

Erandul has a crescent shaped silver birthmark in the center of his brow, where he was touched by Umbra,a dn granted the power to fight against a god for a short time.

Physical quirks

Erandul is said to have moved so smoothly, it was impossible to determine where he would move next, despite the eye being able to keep track of his movements. He used this trait to great effect, switching the hand that held his sword with impunity, throwing opponents constantly off balance.

Special abilities

Erandul was blessed by Umbral with enhanced strength, speed, and wisdom. Erandul also gained the ability to channel the protection of the night, which he used to save his companions after he destroyed Lolth's Reliquary.

Erandul wielded a mithril rapier, Urpathal, during the Revolution. His cloak is said to have concealed his identity so completely that when a Priest of Lolth scanned his mind for thoughts of the revolution, the priest found nothing.

Personal history

Erandul was only thirty, barely a child by elf standards, when his parents were sacrificed to Lolth as appeasement. When his parents died, Erandul became cold, and grew distant from his community. a century later, when he was chosen as sacrifice, he vanished into the caverns, and everyone thought him dead.
But Erandul did not die that day. he instead managed to escape the Drow Empire and found salvation on the Surface, where he received a vision from the shadow god Umbra, telling him to fight against the darkness in the Drow, and to never give up. When the vision passed, Erandul found he had been marked by Umbral, in the form of a crescent moon on his brow.
Returning to the caverns, Erandul traveled in secret. Quietly gathering followers and spreading dissent, Erandul spent five decades preparing to overthrow Lolth. when the time came, the entire empire rose against the Priests of Lolth, and cast them down.
Erandul gathered a group of powerful fighters to him during his preparations, and took them with him when the revolution began to storm the temple of Lolth at Nalar, taking out the Ur-priest and drawing the ire of Lolth herself, who began to manifest in her reliquary, a massive stone spider enchanted to hold her power.
As Lolth was possessing the reliquary, Erandul fearlessly leaped straight towards the statue, driving his blade deep into the stone before twisting the blade, cracking the statue through.
With the container damaged, it could not contain Lolth's essence, adn the resulting blast destroyed Erandul utterly. As his last act, he shrouded his companions in shadow, ensuring that they lived.

Erandul is generally though of as male, though some scholars think he may have been a Kushma, one who was not male or female.

Sexuality

Erandul was famous for his abstinence, and is reputed to have never taken a lover, instead choosing to dedicate his life to overthrowing Lolth.

Erandul was never formally taught higher education, but knew how to read and write. he also learned subterfuge and stealth, as well as the power of rumors and gossip, growing up on the streets after his parents died.

Erandul is one of three people in the history of Song to fight a manifested god, and the only one to defeat one.
Erandul is also credited with removing the taint of Lolth from the Drow, creating the Midnight elves.

Erandul was always haunted by the deaths of his parents, and cultivated a cold rage over the rest of his life, aimed soley at destroying the church of Lolth.

Intellectual Characteristics

Erandul is said to have been constantly driven, an arrow in flight loosed at Lolth. Even his death could not stop him from destroying all that remained of Lolth utterly.

Erandul maintained respect and care for those who would respect and care for you in turn as his guiding philosophy. He refused to bow blindly to any god, even Umbra, from who he gained his power, and the organization that upholds his memory, the Watchblades, take his philosophy to heart.

The greatest taboo Erandul ever took note of was the betrayal of one who trusts you, especially for your own gain. the idea of making a decision for another was completely abhorrent to him, though he sometimes pushed people away against their will.
