Lakolis
Riding in on train the old fields vanished into flurries of trees and forestry. The wolf wood seems to consume the line before shifting and changing. These are no simple oaks, but Elf Ferns and Red Woods that extend three times over the height of the train and block out the heavy sun. Though you can hear the shifting waves of the lake, you can not see it for all the tree.
When you hit the city proper, it comes as a surprise. One or houses among the trees become great streams of them and sturdy walls. Yet within the city its not as if the forest simply stop It extensive and rises up the pillars that span the city. This ancient place. Once a floating city flew above the forest here, and even as it crashed down, the city survived. Older than the Empire, built when sea elves ruled the river.
Lakolis, the forest city never fades.
Demographics
Majority High Elf, sizable orcish, dwarven and human minority.
Government
Seat of government for Elvlind directly administered by the governor of Elvlind, Cora Wynn, a moderate that is partially aligned with the emperor while playing ball with the conservatives. The city itself is politically deep in the pockets of the optimates, and though placed there by the emperor, Cora must play a careful balancing act to retain her position, both with the senate and towns advisory council.
Infrastructure
The city operates on many many cross bridges and elevators and is famously difficult to travel by wagon and the city itself is not designed for industry. Along with that the city sports the Edrani Express line to Sudolis and Nova Edren as well as a rather large harbor pressed against Ioun's Eye lake.
Districts
The city is divided into many districts, where the old floating fell down pillars remain with many structures still on them. Temple districts and fortresses dot these plateau's along with the great church of Corellion, the Lighthouse of Lakolis, the governors palace and the famous training yard for the Sacred Band. There is also the wealthy district of Luck's Rise where many of the most wealthy live.
Below them are many districts including the famous market district where a vast array of small shops and famous artisan workers live. Enjeweled wood carving is famous here as well asl elven styled goods of "Lake Silver" a sort of silver like material found along the river itself. Also famed is the Blood of the Sorcerer a magic item shop known for artisanal craft.
Nearby is also the red light district famous for its popularity as a place where one can get a classy and experienced elven lover. The reputation of The Old Emerald specifically is famous for its "Elven" burlesque shows and private affairs.
There is foreign district as well, often misunderstood by non natives, it specifically refers to a high population of humans orcs and now tieflings that have begun to form neighborhoods on the outside of
