Donorian tea is a brewed drink made from the leaves of the Donorian Tea Plant. The drink, at least most versions of it, is amber-yellow in color and has a sweet herbal taste to it. It is a common drink on Donora and across the galaxy, although it is hard to find the drink traditionally prepared outside of Donora or Donorian diaspora communities.
The iced and pre-made versions of the drink are common drinks across the galaxy made by many different companies. They can often be found at cafes and in the fridge section of many stores.
There are numerous variations on the drink, adding other ingredients like fruit juice, sweeteners, cream, and the like. The type of tea and the specific name depends on the way that the plant’s leaves were processed.
Preparation
The most traditional way of preparing donorian tea goes as such: the tea leaves are boiled in milk or water, depending on the consumer’s taste, and then poured through a strainer to remove any excess leaf particles. At this point, other ingredients like
Dreye Pine syrup or various fruits may be added. The Tea is then allowed to cool a little bit before being consumed.
Modernly, people can purchase tea pre-prepped only needing to warm up the liquid or put the ingredients into a machine that prepares it for them. Additional ingredients may need to be added or may already be added depending on the tea.
The drink may also be a cold drink served with ice or simply chilled, but these are more common for large companies to sell as a quick drink than for people to make themselves.
