Donora

Donora is a terrestrial world covered mostly in dense forests and tall grasslands, however, a good portion of the planet has been developed and urbanized. The people and culture of the planet are called the Donorians.
Donora is a member planet of the Galactic Coalition.

Star System

Donora is located in a single-star system with four planets, one of which is Donora. The planet itself has one moon.

Ecosystem & Geography

The planet has three main continents and numerous smaller landmasses and islands, most of which are habitable. The planet has a large ocean and many smaller water sources like rivers and lakes.
Most of the planet is covered in rainy forests and lush meadows with only a few dry and/or arid regions. There are significant river valley regions that have been cradles for larger settlements and urban centers, and most of Donora’s ancient civilizations were situated around these river valleys.

Regions

Neburn Capital District

The region that encompasses Neburn and its surrounding areas. It is heavily urbanized and is the major hub on the planet both population and technology-wise. It is also the main interstellar hub for the planet due to its many spaceports.
The land it is situated on is predominantly lowlands that were once covered with forests and grasslands with multiple river systems.

Population

There is a large ‘stay green’ movement and agricultural presence on the planet so most people live in smaller towns and villages. There are still however numerous larger urban settlements such as Neburn.
The majority of the people living on the planet are Donorian, but there is a bit more diversity in the large urban centers.

Infrastructure

The planet has reasonable infrastructure with cross-planet travel being relatively easy; however, due to the planet being home to many protected forests and agricultural regions, transportation can take longer in more rural locations due to the need to wind around these spaces.
Despite access to modern technology, there is a strong traditionalist culture on the planet where people try to continue and preserve their traditional beliefs and ways of life often while also synchronizing them with modern tech and infrastructure. For example, many Donorians still live in the traditional housing that they have used for generations, but some have modernized the materials used; also, in more urban skyrise buildings architects will try to keep some of the traditional architectural elements in the designs.
