Hala's BBQ

Hala’s BBQ is a popular restaurant chain that serves Tiq’en Fusion Barbeque mixing traditional Tiq'en culinary traditions -mostly those involving grilled and marinated meat- with Athean fast food. The restaurant chain is well established in the core worlds of the Galactic Coalition and is especially present in urban areas.
The restaurant chain is a fast dining restaurant chain, meaning that the customers order their food at a counter before seating themselves in the seating area or taking their food to grow. The food comes on disposable plates and cutlery and is often greasy and cheaply priced.

Food Selection

The food at the restaurants is very meat-heavy, often using Kandu or Feathered Lizard meat with some other types of meat being used depending on the location, with cultural preference or sourcing affecting variations in what meat is served.

Dishes Served Include

BBQ Sandwich - a sandwich made from pulled BBQ brisket marinated and slow-cooked before being shredded and put onto the sandwich. There are a few different types of BBQ sandwiches with the main difference being the sauce the meat is marinated.
BBQ Ribs - a plate of ribs marinated in BBQ sauce and grilled before being served with a sauce of the customer's choice.
BBQ Skewers - a plate of skewers of grilled meat and peppers served with a sauce of the customer's choice.
BBQ Wings - a plate of wings marinated before being cooked and then deep fried before being shaken in a sauce of the customer's choice.
Various side dishes are also available for the customers to eat with their meal, the most common side options are some sort of pickled vegetables, boiled egg (often served cold), or some sort of salad.

History

It was founded by a Tiq-en Athean man named Hala, hence the restaurant's name. Who mixed the Tiq’en foods he ate as a child with the fast food meals he ate after emigrating to Athea. The first restaurant opened on Athea, and soon opened more restaurants on the planet before starting to open locations on other planets like Cirelia, Donora, and Thunus, especially in those planet’s urban centers.
Hala has since sold the chain, and the restaurant chain is now under different management. The restaurant chain has been around for over forty years.
