Snarsisians are a humanoid species that are native to the planet
Snarsis.
Physiology
They are small, on average only standing between three and four feet tall. They have large black eyes, bat-like ears, and very flat noses. They have paddle-like arms and hands which help them with burrowing, they also have small claws which help with digging as well as with protection. Snarsisians also have large blue and black tounges.
They have hairless leathery lizardlike skin that is normally some shade of brown or beige, with their stomach and underside tending to be lighter in color. They have a sparse amount of hair-like bristles on their bodies, these hairs are believed to help with thermal regulation. children and babies tend to have more of these bristles, particularly along their backs but as they reach adulthood the hair becomes sparser.
Snarsisians are a crepuscular species that are more active at dawn and dusk and as such, they have large eyes that are developed for seeing in the dark, however, they still have poor eyesight, especially in bright light; they tend to rely more on hearing which is better than most other species, they also have a good sense of smell. They also have a third eyelid to protect their eyes from debris, similar to that of the Donorian species, however, the Snarsisian third eyelid is not see-through.
Snarsisians reproduce via egg laying where soft-shelled eggs are laid, and where the embryo continues to develop. After the egg is birthed the shell will harden and become more solid. Only one egg is produced at a time.
They have green blood due to sulfur being a component in their blood, this causes them to have more green and yellow undertones to their skin.
Other Traits
Due to the way their vocal cords and voice box are different from Humans and other human-like species, Snarsisians are capable of making phonetic sounds not capable of being spoken or heard by other species. This causes their language to be hard to understand and speak if the person is not Snarsisian themselves.
Snarsisians have a lower spice tolerance than most other species, and are very sensitive to strong flavors, this causes them to have many bland dishes in their culture.
Snarsisians are a shorter-lived species, only living on average to be around fifty or sixty years old. They also mature faster, reaching adulthood around the age of twelve.
