Isotope-10

Discovered at first on Saturn, Isotope-10 is a substance which allows the Jump Drive to latch onto the cosmic filaments used by the gates, opening the slingshot for them to jump to different solar systems. Isotope-10 is found many places, however it is mostly mined off of gas giants.
It is considered by many a miracle energy source, powering the current societies that expand throughout the Orion Arm. It also allows itself to be used as a fuel propellent, powering powerful afterburners and engines. Exposure to Iso-10 has also been rurmored to have caused the onset of human Psionics, in conjunction with Spice.

Collecting the resource is a dangerous, if not lucrative endeavor, requiring skilled extractors.
