As the crusades continue to inflict havoc in the Mid and Outer Rim, the inner systems began to question the loyalty of the Imperial Navy to the empire. They began to believe that the Navy was only loyal to the House of Stone, and Emperor Nero Proxius.
  The War in Heaven began when Karak, the homeworld of the House of Stone was destroyed by a pre-emptive strike by the House of Moments. Trillions would die in the ensuing war, as houses turned on one another, and sibling killed sibling. The empire tore itself apart, and was only ended when the gates truly fell apart, and there were no more battles that could be had.
  Nero was banished to New Bastion, while the rest of the empire was forced to pick up the pieces, with a new Emperor from the House of Glass in charge.
