Marine Force

The Marine Force is the amphibious force of the Federal Republic and is the fourth most important branch in terms of equipment and personnel of the armed forces. This force is unfortunately only partially used in times of peace since it is mainly offensive and not defensive. This is why a good part of these soldiers are reservists who must carry out regular training to maintain a certain level and take up arms in the event of war. A permanent force is however kept to deal with unforeseen events and achieved his defensive goals.

Structure

The Marine Force is led by the Chief of Staff of the Marine Force which has a very important role in the Joint Chiefs of Staff by being in charge of the Marine Command or MARCOM along with Vice Chief of the Marine Force. This command has a more administrative than operational role by managing the material and human resources available to the branch. The Marine Force is one of the four main branches of the armed forces. It occupies a central place in its last since it is it which aims to serve as the main landbase offensive force.

Hierarchy

The Marine Force assigns its commissioned and non-commissioned officers to military ranks depending on their level of responsibility within the branch like all these of the armed forces. The commissioned officers must attend the Military Academy of the Federal Republic to obtain a rank equal to or higher than Second Lieutenant unlike non-commissioned ones who do not require professional training.

Public Agenda

The responsabilities are to invade enemy planets, reconquer Republican planets if enemy conquest occurs, support the Army if the planet where they are stationed is attacked, to serve as boarding personnel when the mission requires it and assisted the space division for more dangerous operations. He must also protect certain places, settlements or stations having a strategic importance located in the space which is considered as its domain of operation.

Assets

Vehicules

The Marine Force have many vessels and vehicles at their disposal including the Inferno MBT, the Cheetah Light Tank, the dropship Albatross, the gunship Cetonia and the heavy vehicle transporter Marabout. The Marines also use the Navy's Molefe Class troop transport and the Guiying Class assualt ship for the transport of his equipments as well as personnel over long distances. These allow to transport dozens of Albatross, Cetonia, Marabout and many others assault vehicles.

Infrastructures

The Marine Force has a network of military bases across the Republic mostly located on asteroids or planetoids and a smaller part on planets to be able to quickly regroup and strike enemy territory in the event of an attack. Note that most Marine Force bases on planets are adjoining Army bases to save space and assist the Army if the planets they are on are attacked.

History

The Marine Force is one of the four main branches of the Republic's armed forces and is a central piece in the projection of Republic influence within the galaxy along with the Navy although the latter is much larger. Despite this, the Marine Force's status as an offensive force means that, except during the two wars in which the Republic participated, its forces have been lightly engaged. The Marine Force has however always kept a part of its forces active to serve as a deterrent to any aggressor who would harm the interests of the Republic. The latter was originally a subdivision of the Confederate Navy before the increasing requirements for military forces in space forced the new government of the Federal Republic to make it a full branch.

Wow! I enjoyed reading this piece, and it has given me some ideas on how I want to structure what I've titled 'Axioms of the Watchmen,' a creed and rule book for my combat wizards. I have also borrowed from a real-world military structure, the U.S. Marines. Secretly, I wanted to be a Marine when I was younger, but my gimpy hip kept me out. :( Hoorah!

Thank you very much! Happy that you gain inspiration during the reading of the article and I think it's a good idea to take inspiration from the real world, so great job, can't wait to see the result. Sorry for you hip, it must not be very pleasant in everyday life, hope that it will go better in the future. Instead, do you want to join my Marine Corps!? With the medicine of my world we can fix that for you and it's free!
