Vice-President of the Republic

Qualifications

It is necessary to have a university degree in any domain with a preference for political science to hold this position. Most candidates have in addition previous political experience and a certain advancement in the personal career even if it's not official requirements because it's generally appreciated by the electorate.

Requirements

To hold this position, candidates must be citizens of the Republic, meet the necessary qualifications, be of legal age, not be the subject of legal proceedings at the time of filing their candidacy, not have been convicted of a crime within twenty years preceding his candidacy and have no apparent conflict of interest with any individual, corporation or government. Finally, if he held a high public office, he does not claim to have been convicted of a political crime or to have violated the Republican Code of Political Ethics.

Appointment

The occupant of the position is chosen by the President during his campaign who then has his candidate approved by the Office of the Federal Civil Service. A ceremony is organized after the election in the People House for all members of the new government formed by the new president, including the Vice-President, to be sworn in and officially take up their duties.

Duties

The Vice-President has a duty to respect the Constitution of the Federal Republic, to discharge these responsibilities with integrity, to act in the interests of the citizens as well as of the Republic and and to ensure that members of government carry out their duties without exceeding their powers.

Responsibilities

He need to act as the official head of the government and ensures the link between the various secretaries, the Parliament of the Republic and the President. The Vice-President is also in charge of forming a government with the approval of the Office of the Federal Civil Service which will implement the agenda of the coalition as well as that of the President and chairs the State Council.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The Vice-President may be removed from office by the President with the approval of the Office of the Federal Civil Service which must ensure that the decision is not in abuse and the replacement chosen by the President. The Vice-President can also be removed from office by the Republican Guard if he is subject to legal proceedings or has violated the Republican Code of Political Ethics. He is permanently removed from these functions if he is found guilty on the contrary he can resume them if he is acquitted.
