Elf
Elves are graceful dwellers of the forest, living in treetop villages woven into the boughs of great trees. They move from branch to branch, rarely need to touch the ground unless to collect fallen game, herbs or water. And even then, many have learned to hoist such thing up with ropes and hooks rather than touch the ground.
Elves carry in them an inherent attunement to the primal magic of the world, with gives them an inborn knowledge of how to live harmoniously with their surrounding, balancing their needs with that of natural world.
Some hearing this would think them weak and potentially easy prey. The elves are more than happy to clarify such misunderstandings.
Elves are skilled warriors, mastering a wide array of weapons, most famously their bows, which are often loaded with magical arrows that can change the battlefield with every shot. This harmony with nature extends to an inherent predatory cunning, giving elves an instinctive insight in how to fight even the weirdest and most obscure of foes.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves are slender, long-limbed bipeds. They are covered in short fur, the color ranging from brown to red. They have long ears and a long tail that helps them balance. Their feet are prehensile and assist them in climbing around in the trees they live in. An elf can climb in any direction, including upside down if need be. They slender build also helps them squeeze through surprisingly small gaps.
Genetics and Reproduction
Elves procreate through sexual intercourse between male and female. Developing fetuses are carried in the mother's womb for about 300 to 350 cycles. One or two babies are the norm, though more are not unheard of.
Growth Rate & Stages
Elven babies are born nearly furless and blind. They are initially very dependent on their community and gain nourishment from their mother's milk. Over the next couple of decacycles, they slowly grow their fur out and gain sight, quickly becoming able to move around on their own. During this periods, parents must be extra careful, as the young are prone to crawling off to explore the surrounding trees.
Elven kids will mature and reach full size over the next fifteen to twenty years.
Ecology and Habitats
Elves are forest dwellers, living in the boughs of large and old trees. Some elves can even go their entire lives without ever needing to touch the ground. Elves take good care of their homes, healing sick trees, taking down tangles that might prevent young trees from getting the light they need and sowing the seeds to encourage new growth. Forests with an elven community tend to be very healthy.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Elves are omnivorous. Their stomach and the microorganisms living in it are especially adapt at breaking down materials and elves can subsist of leaves and bark if need be, though most prefer a more varied diet. They hunt game with bow and arrow, ambushing them from high positions. Trees that sprout plenty of edible nuts and fruit are prized and well taken care off.

Courtship Ideals
In many elven communities, a semi-traditional part of courtship is called the chase. As part of it, one elf will challenge another to catch them, making for a wild dash through the treetops. For most elves, catching the challenger is less important than demonstrating a sincere eagerness in pursuing them. It's seen as a good way to gauge interest.

Elves usually dress either in furs or light clothes woven out of leaves, bark and other available materials.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Dwarf: Elves and dwarves usually get along well, as the two races compete for very few ressources. They do, however, usually confuse each other culturally. Elves often don't understand how dwarves can stand living underground, an environment they find incredibly cramped and claustrophobic, nor do they get dwarves aesthetics, preferring not to be sealed inside a heavy set of metal armor. They often do trade though, exchanging the ressources that each other are interested in.
