Magic
Magic is a powerful force, an everpresent energy that can shape lands, forge destinies and bring kingdoms to ruin. Five types of magic exist, each with its own source.
Divine: The magic of the Ether. Most famously wielded by deities and their servitors, divine magic is channeled through clerics and priests in exchange for devotion to the deity's precepts. The power also exists in world heart, from which some learn to tap it.
Arcane: The magic of the Mist, arcane magic is mutable and unstable, best mastered through rigorous study. Wizard wield the arcane, though some creatures are born with a connection to it. Such beings are especially valued as navigators, as they are resistant or downright immune to the mutagenic effects of the Mist.
Primal: The magic of the spheres. Primal magic form an important part in the formation of the spheres themselves and populating them with life. Its a very willful force, channeled by druids, who learn to exist in harmony with it. The primal magic is perfectly capable of rejecting those who call upon it, should they misuse it.
Animatic: The magic of the spirit. Shamans call upon either spirits found in their environs or the power of their own soul. Through these bonds, they can then reach the spirit that inhabits the world around them and either command or convince them to help.
Occult: The power of the self. Whereas primal is the power of the body and animatic the power of the soul, occult power is the power of the mind. Some unlock it's power through force of personality or intense study, but those who lack such power can instead supplement it my leeching it off more powerful beings through pacts. Demons are most famous for making these. With a pact, the warlock can siphon off energy to boost themselves, allowing them to call upon the powers of the occult.
