Highland Pegasus

Highland pegasi are acclimatized to rougher and harsher terrain. Life can be rough in these areas and competition for ressources can be harsh, even for herbivores. Highland pegasi are therefore much more combative than other of their kind, though still as willing to trade and cooperate.   Being stronger and hardier, their blows can easily shatter bones and their enchanted feathers can cut a human to ribbons. Living alongside species such as giants has also given them an additional trick up their proverbial sleeve. Against large projectiles, such as hurled boulders, highland pegasi have learned that concentrating their power into their hoves can allow them to kick such projectiles back, often to the original sender's surprise.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Pegasi are equine quadrapeds. They have four legs, ending in hooves, and two massive feathered wings protruding from their shoulders. On one end, they have a head, with a long mane going from between their ears and along their neck. They have small tail, covered in long hair. Their very short fur tends towards bronish colors, with the feathers and manes often caramel. They magic is inherently linked to the skies and no weather can touch a pegasus or anyone they deign to let ride them. They are surprisingly light creatures, capable of even walking on mist or clouds if they so desire. This also means that powerful blows can have a harder time hurting them, as they just move with the strike, but it also means that any amount of force tends to send them flying. Highland pegasi are hardier than many other species of pegasi and are noticeably more muscular. The magic channeled through their feathers can cause them to harden to the point of slicing through armor or hitting like a rock, depending on how they swing their wings.
