Bounty from Beyond the Gate
In the years shortly after the opening of the portal to Cymbar from Fin-Lyaan, neither the Exodite Council nor Exodite society at large were convinced that trade with or expansion into the Khelish kingdoms was a worthwhile use of the nation's resources. Fin-Allan was allowed to operate as a trading post on an experimental basis, and the first Minister of Fin-Allan, Ginead Synnde, had quite the undertaking ahead of him to convince the council that his posting was a worthy one.
The Khelish had a number of materials and products and the Exodites had no means to produce in the borderworld, and those few elves that inhabited Fin-Allan at the time had had the opportunity to sample many of them. However, most of the councilors had never visited Cymbar, and most elves had never eaten human food, and never seen the many useful things the humans made out of plants and animals the Exodites did not have.
Thus, Ginead had the elves under his ministry trade for the most interesting and strange items they could find. Then, he had samples of everything they had obtained loaded into a cart, and sent through the portal for the inhabitants of Fin-Lyaan to marvel at. When the Exodite people and councilors saw for themselves what the humans could bring them, their attitudes changed. The first "Bounty from Beyond the Gate" ensured that the elves would continue to move into Cymbar.
The first shipment came as a complete surprise to the people of Fin-Lyaan, and people on the street wondered at the contents. Some of them even got to use them as the ministers responsible examined and distributed the goods contained.
Minister Synnde continued to send shipments monthly, and then biweekly and weekly as more and more elves were sent to Cymbar under his command. Today, as Exodus-in-Prime has expanded, the shipments go daily. However, many of them contents are still marvelous to the inhabitants of the Borderworld and shipments of human-produced goods or things made from materials only found on the Prime are still eagerly received by the elves of Exodus.
