GR 12: Bellami's Dungeon

Sent as escorts to a merchant caravan from Becon’s Crossing to Barrelbur, with a mixed-race party (including lansians, sylvans and kians). They encountered opposition from the Witch’s forces just outside Becon's Crossing, a band of skirmishers which included allied satyrs from the Greenwood. They recieved support from Lunari Fae woodlights still operating in the general area.   As the merchant caravan neared the sylvan town of Barrelbur, they were approached by a strange talking bird who requested their help in freeing his master Bellami from ethereal imprisonment. The bird led the party to the ruins of a small tower, where the party entered the dungeons beneath the ruins in an effort to find and free Bellami.   OUTSIDE GAME-TIME: Though the campaign was never finished, it was suggested that Bellami was not being held in the dungeon itself, but was actually imprisoned in the form of the bird Charli. It was one of the only games early games played in Sylvan-Hulder lands south of the Greenwood.   MEMORABLE MOMENTS: Instead of a traditional outer door, the entrance to Bellami's dungeon required a vertical descent by rope down from the surface to the tower's foundation level. Access to the interior required the party to make their way past a series of guard-dog statues with wide saucer-like eyes, guarding entry to the lower levels.   SUBSEQUENT CONNECTIONS: Many real-world years later, the name of this general region south of the Greenwood was established as "the Downs" -- just east of Hulden Vale. Though not named during the original game, the fae warriors encountered by the party can be identified as the fae warriors, Vrolcath and Slineamor, who were the only two Lunari fae in the area at the time.
