Teurgan

The Teurgan (TEWR-gan) people are an ancient Traüllish race, with a unique history. Descended from the Oni Nephilim, mutated into their present form in the days of the great Cataclysm, Teurgans are feared for their strength and ferocity in combat, as well as their large and menacing appearance. Relatively few in numbers, they are usually found as individuals connected to Uruk society. The only large groups that remain still dwell deep within the equatorial Gephtan jungles.   Teurgans have an unlimited Infravision, which allows them to detect the impression of heat in the dark. Their powerful teeth and jaws are capable of inflicting (1-6) points of damage, and their clawed hands can inflict an additional (1-4). In such combat, Teurgans can attack with two claws and one bite per round. They also have a remarkable regenerative ability, allowing them to heal 1 Injury Point per hour, unless destroyed by acid or fire, which heals at a normal rate. They are particularly vulnerable to weapons of Iron and Aeranthyr.   Young Teurgans have a reputation for cruelty and ferocity as warriors. Some have even been known to engage in cannibalism. Many practice a sacrificial religion, combining certain pagan practices within a monotheistic framework. Their shamans employ the Orendic Method as their only form of etherea.   Teurga have a dark brick-red skin, pointed ears, black eyes, with course dark hair. They are large and muscular, and can often appear to be overweight. The speed of Teurgan regeneration often results in extensive scarring and disfigurement. Given their warlike tendencies and the fact that they can live almost twice as long as the average human, the Teurga see their scars as marks of power and strength. They often wear crude animal skins as clothing, and proudly display their body scars.   ONI (ELDAR TRAULLS): The living ancestors of the Teurga are known as Great Eldar Traülls. Like the true Elvá, very few remain beyond The Age of Advent. They will always be encountered alone, in various secluded locales throughout the world. Eldar Traülls have a keen interest in the ethereal sciences, especially in ancient things. They are excellent story-tellers and riddle-masters. Despite their crude appearance, they are quick-witted and insightful, though often with selfish or sinister motives. While they are unshakable monotheists, they believe themselves to be under the eternal curse of God. Like Elvá, Eldar Traülls do not age in the natural sense of the word. Their accelerated regenerative ability allows them to heal at a rate of 1 IP per minute. They look like normal Teurga, except that they tend to be 6-12 inches taller, with a +1 on initial STR and STA rolls.   Changelings: The first victims of the Traüllish plague were originally known as Changelings. Their heightened regenerative powers scarred and twisted their forms, and made them aggressive and mentally unstable. These vicious and barbaric creatures spread violence in both north and south, in a time that came to be called the Traüll Wars. Changelings survivors of the plague and wars became the original ancestors of the Traüllish peoples of later eras – i.e. the Teurgan in the secluded jungles of the south and the Ogrim in the desolate reaches of the north. Some of the hidden Elvá in the far north were the only ones spared from the plague.
