The Age of Advent

The Age of Advent reaches back to the earliest days of human civilization, dominated by the culture of the ancient Elváen people, the precursor to the Fae. It is a powerful era known for its great ethereal artistry, with an ethereal prowess lost to later ages. Little is known of this era beyond scriptural legends passed down by people of faith.
The years after The Great Cataclysm saw world-wide destruction, and regression into a dark and warlike age for both the Children of Ména and Elvá. It was also a prophetic era, with the promise of a new age to come (advent means “coming”). It took several centuries for civilizations to recover and begin anew. Only the Elvá of the north retained the power of active etherea, and they used it simply for survival. The creation of the original Starswords, made from the metal of the very stones that fell from the stars, turned the tide and ended the Traull Wars.
The map below shows the distribution of the major subraces of Ména at the beginning of the Age of Advent, prior to any migration in the historical era. The Elvá made landfall in the western region, and later spread to the eastern region during the Age of Advent.
