The Conflagration

Just as the Solari Empire was at the height of its power near the end of The Age of Epiphany, the penance of the fallen Nakhaseraph was coming to an end. These elder Dragons had been banished to after years of enforced ethereal slumber, for “a time, times, and half a time.”
When the starfall impacted the Sun Sea in 683 SR, it caused the eruption of the Keirsea volcano and sent earthquakes and tsunamis across the Solari realm. This violent disturbance of the earth was believed to have also prompted the Elder Dragons to awake from their slumber not long thereafter.
The next generations brought a fiery rain of destruction across the world -- a disaster that had been predicted years before by Ethras the prophet, that came to be called the "Conflagration." The summoned dragons descended upon the already devastated Solari cities and brought them to ruin. Eventually, the dragons focused their attention on the Crucible with the intent to possess its power.
The period of destruction ended in 1195 SR with the Radiance of the Crucible, which annihilated the dragons that had descended upon Aishelon. The following century came to be known as the "Ashen Years."
