Excerpts from an audio recording made by Agent Wesley Snopes several days after the Palm Coast incident of Oct. 14, 1994:
The rain's cleared up, and we're slowly getting a picture of the final death toll. More than a dozen people killed or missing, most of these can be covered up as casualties of the storm but Washington will be expecting a better explanation. The bodies we found didn't show any signs of an assault, but the contorted expressions of pain show that they were in some form of agony upon dying. Agent Rothman mentioned something about vampires last week in DC, is this what it looks like when they feed on their victims?
Whatever did this is still out there, and so far we haven't found any survivors to talk to in all these damn orchards. There was some waitress named Mary at the diner where this whole mess started, but she must have been one of the lucky ones to get out of dodge before this monster caught up with her. I can't stay here much longer, with all the weird stuff going on in Miami I'll have to drive down there in a couple days. Julia was saying she couldn't stop thinking of ghosts and vampires for months after Vegas, I hate to say it but I already know I'm going to be losing sleep over this shit.
