Cracks in Space-Time Continuum
Various catastrophic events that suddenly shifted planes of the multiverse have created small cracks throughout both space and time.
These cracks aren't visable and very rarely have any impact on day to day life. Occassionally they cause small problems most people just attribute to bad luck. When certain elements align in very rare cases it can become possible to slip into these cracks and end up in a different time. The only currently known crack in the space-time continuum is the Lighthouse Rift in Caldera. It only opens every 900 years when the planets are aligned. It can take people back in time almost 1,000 years if entered at the proper time.
The problem is the only person who could see the proper time to enter the crack was Adele, the fortunteller. Anyone else would simply be gambling with their life and would likely end up lost in a void to die.
