Tri-City Swing Free Weekly Dances

Tri-City Swing is a community group that works with local businesses to find locations and put together events where people can swing dance for free.

Culture shouldn't exist only for those who can afford it.

These events generally include free lessons beforehand for people who are not familiar with swing dancing.

All events other than Automaton Park feature live jazz bands, as recorded music isn't an available technology yet. Automaton Park uses a combination of live musicians and their advanced mechanical music boxes that they specialize in.

Generally at swing dancing events it is standard to dance with many different people and meet new people. There is a good mix of couples and single people who come to these events, but it is rare for couples to only dance exclusively with the person they came with.

The community features people both young and old, the demographics shift a bit depending on the day of the week, but generally everyone is accepting of people from all nationalities and age groups.   Tuesday - Automaton Park   Wednesday - Cereal Speakeasy   Thursday - There are no Thursdays in this fictional world. The calendar is built around a 6 day week.   Friday - Folklore Fish Fry   Saturday - Defoball Sports Park - The Path   Sunday - O'Malley's Folk Music Shop   Monday - No sponsored events   On Mondays, Fashion Square Mall has been attempting a corporate backed pay at the door event that monetizes swing dancing. This event has had mixed success and is not officially sponsored by Tri-City Swing, who wishes to promote a community first culture without Corpo input. People in the swing dance informally refer to Monday as 'Corpo Monday'. The Corpo event does sometimes get very famous musicians to play.
