Starfront

Starfront is the popular name for the sector of the Milky Way next to Home and towards the center of the Galaxy.
As the idea of reaching the center is popular among explorers, this is one of the directions from Terran Space that has been most scouted, however with the wastness of the universe, the Human race has only just begun settling on the Starfront side of the sector border.

Geography

Starfront is closer to the center and therefore more populated by stars, as that is generally how the galaxy works.

Ecosystem

So far the only settlement actually settled on this side of the Starfront/Home border is the religious town The Calling, and not many are even aware of that presence.
The planet they settled has several indigenous species and plantlife.
Hardly the only habitable planet in the sector, several planets have been at least categorized by explorers from a scale of somewhat liveable to a few Eden Worlds.

Natural Resources

As an untapped sector, assumably the region must be teeming with resources waiting to be mined and planets waiting to be colonized as soon as the human race can produce enough humans to do so, that is.
The mining corporations especially are in a race to get out there and take hold of some prime mining planets.

History

Since the dawn of space exploring and colonization, Starfront has held a peak interest among the populus.
There rests in many adventurers the dream of seeing the center of the universe, which would bring them right through Starfront.
Many seeking to expand their sphere of influence or the hold of civilization, and the density in star systems of Starfront means that it's easier to scan systems faster and easier to assume that is where habitable planets can be found.

I made this world because my mind keeps rambling, and instead of stopping it, I'm riding the wave.
It started with a picture in my mind of a tiger man in a small spacecraft following a giant tiger in space, in the tone of old saturday morning cartoons and the Heavy Metal animated movie.
Then came the idea of his occational ally, a woman in space flying a small asteroid. The more I wrote on her, the more I got intrigued by the past, I deviced.
Right now the flow is focused on her background - namely all related to The Genesis Project.
I do all of the writing and almost all of the drawing myself at this point.
My hope for Star Tiger is a published story or a graphical novel, but my big dream is an animated show.
