DFI Training Droid

A droid line specially designed by Professor Tekon to train force sensitive students, the DFI training droid is the main combat experience received by students before graduation. Initially created to reduce the number of student-to-student injuries, the benefit of having an opponent with variable combat performance soon became apparent.

Description

This model is built out of a lightweight plasteel armor casing, outfitted with dual repulsor lifts to allow hovering over any terrain. Two arm attachments allow for basic maneuvering and are socketed for combat attachments.   The inner casing is hollow with space for weapon attachments - most of which include energy, kinetic, and lightning damaging weapons for various combat simulations. Basic combat programming allows for adaptable levels of capability which can scale with the aptitude of individual students when set by instructors.

History

Similar in composition to the DFI Medic Droid, the blueprint for this model came about from tinkering with the remaining active parts of decommisioned medic droids. Following the base design, Tekon replaced the inner medical compartments with weapon storage to allow quick transition between weapon types for combat training.   As combat practice causes constant deterioration of droid components, repair and replacement of individuals is done by local droid shops near academy campuses or sometimes by some of the more tech savvy students during their down time.
