KX-98

A modified version of the Mining Droid Mk. I, KX-98 is a sentient model that can independently act on its own volition. Thankful to those that removed its restraining bolt, KX chose to follow and help the Initiates in their goal of clearing the infested caverns.

Description

A Class V Droid, KX-98 is a small labor droid specifically designed for mining operations in hazardous environments. Detailed with a cobalt blue trim, the spider-like droid can quickly scurry across open areas an crawl on walls with ease. Equipped with four sensors, two near its grasper arms and two on its rear core, the droid has enhanced perception and can detect close thermal readings.

History

Found within the Dantooine Crystal Cavern, KX-98 is an anomaly for the droid type they are, as most have only basic operating code to perform menial labor tasks. Searching through KX's archive, it quickly becomes apparent that most memory records have been deleted from their systems. Whether this was done deliberately, or is some form of data corruption, is unknown.

Mining Droid

Front Lights: KX-98 has built in lights that can spread bright light in a 15 foot cone, and dim light for another 15 feet. 
Spider Crawl: KX-98 has a walking speed of 40 feet, as well as a climbing speed of 20 feet.
Thermal Sense: KX-98 has darkvision for 60 feet, as well as blindsight within 10 feet.

Personal Gear

Mining Drill (Hidden Blade): Built into both of KX's graspers, are drills designed for mining precious ores from bedrock. These can be used as a form of personal defense if any hostile creatures come within melee range.

Mining Laser (Blaster Pistol): Built into the front chassis of KX is a focused laser designed for mining precious ores from bedrock. Focusing energy into the blaster can enhance its damage to outputs comparable to military blaster pistols. Mining Laser. Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 40/160, one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) energy damage.
