Jedi Order

The Jedi Order has existed for thousands of years and operates under the guidance of the Jedi Council. Recently, the Jedi Order officially declared allegiance to the Galactic Republic, becoming its primary protectors and peacekeepers. A small minority of the Jedi, unhappy with this decision, have declared themselves independent of the Council, and have been given the label of Ronin Jedi.
