A Storm of Blasters: VN Ysadora
General Summary
I promised Yeager Lexics that I'd fly his newly-acquired ship back home for him, and I'm making good on that. We already got it a new registry, with the name Aay'han. It's a Suwantek TL-1300.
I guess Fel Tolin upgraded the engines to just below military spec levels. Also this tin can is supposed to be equipped with a couple of laser cannons on par with Yeager's Interceptor. I don't care, I'm just piloting it along in Yeager's wake.
Master Obi-Wan is not touching the controls. He's merely keeping me company.
We're flying along and suddenly get yanked out of hyperspace! There's a two-sun three-gas-giant star system, uninhabited, and there's a refurbished Galactic Imperial Interdictor Cruiser named the Xav Vorbarra. Also there is a Corellian CR90 Corvette named the Raptor, assigned to Vormecetti militia units, and its complement of X-Wing fighters.
I've got SUCH a bad feeling about this!
Through heavy static we hear, "Finally! We have tracked you down, after ALL THE TROUBLE you have caused!" and accusations that we're pirates and we must stand down or be destroyed. That's somebody-Vorpinsky, who has been having a lot of trouble with the Straw Hat Gang. Meanwhile Captain Baronick of the Raptor and Avin Vordrozda of the Xav Vorbarra are ordering the fighters closer to "keep the pirates under observation until this is settled".
And then ANOTHER CAPITAL SHIP shows up, OH MY GOD WHAT! They have weapons hot. They're targeting the Vormecetti. This is Captain Lissa Vorkalloner of the Renegade, and she goes on to accuse the other guys of being pirates.
That goes SO WELL!
Obi-Wan tries to contact Vorpinsky, can't, talks to Danar Vorpadaran aboard the Renegade instead. I open up the ship registry recorder, which I recently used to set the current registration for the Aay'han, and start RANTING about how I'm me and I'm travelling with the EMPEROR'S CHAMPION and they cannot HAVE a voiceprint or faceprint or ANYTHING while they're JAMMING US, and then something about childish behavior instead of proper adult Vorness, and on and so forth until Capt. Baronick steps up to stand a bit down and say they are not jamming us.
Yeager is trying to figure out where the jamming is coming from. He's stepped out of his ship to take a look at his own hull, but nothing is attached there.
Captain Vorkalloner sends me a response over the IFF telemetry, apparently she's having the same jamming and misreported identification problem. She thinks there must be a worm in the programming somewhere.
If there is, it's only affecting the military vehicles.
Suddenly a concussion grenade goes off, illuminating a droid weapons platform! Several others wake up, making a crescent all around all of us! And the Interdictor cruiser powers up its weapons and aims at Yeager!
All hell breaks loose. I wanted a peanut butter sandwich, dammit. The chaos stays pretty chaotic until the Xav Vorbarra is in danger of an uncontrolled collapse of its gravity well. One of the droid platforms stops shooting at Obi-Wan when I transmit a segment recorded of Decepticons chattering at each other, for all I know the phrase was "kill all meatbags".
Oh and something sciency happens with a lot of "blah" and "gravity lens" and more "blah", showing a two-ship dogfight in hyperspace between the Reaverized Star Krayt (lost early in the Clone Wars) and a completely unknown vessel ((which just happens to look like a Romulan Bird of Prey)).
I send a message to come here and get helped. The very white-coloration humanoid answering the message does not speak a language I know, but Danar reasons out that they probably speak Herglese and so does he. The speaker says he is Science Officer Garrick Merth, and that his captain is receiving medical attention at this time.
(Meanwhile Yeager is having a conversation with Jamal, First of Security, in Archaic Mandalorian.)
On one of the weapons platforms:
Krell says the jamming was caused by an improperly installed Interdictor engine. He says they took advantage of it to do something they agreed to do in trade for support in their thousand-years war.
Krell is a soldier.
Krell is a very old mechanism-based person in the same way that I am a very young organic-based person.
I am SO GLAD that Eleni is not here right now!
Complication: Yeager called in his girlfriend Jenna Martovich and the Adepta Sororitas for a "Purging of the Unclean"!
I do some faaaaaast talking.
The alien ship (with the pale guy and the yellow-gelatin-three-armed guy on it) is the Tal'Vath, and it is from the Escobar Federation. Its captain is Tormek Valas.
We board the Star Krayt with the Adepta Sororitas. There are old clones among the dead Reavers. There are also splotches of this odd purple ooze. And purple mushrooms. Various hideously disgusting things are burned. Disgusting samples are taken. And then we go back to some SERIOUS decontamination.
