Calipsa Run

House VorCalipsa owns all of this route except for Nella System and Estaph System. House VorCalipsa maintains and updates the navbuoys. House VorCalipsa sets the travel tariffs.

The problem here is that House Vormecetti controls the major access via the Procopian Shipping Lane. When House Vormecetti thinks that House VorCalipsa is getting too big for their collective britches, House Vormecetti simply reroutes all traffic in Nella System back toward Estaph System.

VorCalipsa used to lodge a complaint each time with Prime Minister Aral Vorkosigan, or with whichever Moff was assigned to the Tapani Sector. Maybe one time in eight, they would get help in time to be worth it. The other seven times, Vormecetti protested innocence, then accidental oversight, then paid the fine while basically not caring.

Nowadays, VorCalipsa has a pregenerated form which they use to lodge a complaint with the Underminister of Travel in Emperor Gregor's palace. The Underminister copies it over to the Order of Solicitors who, as far as I can deduce, assign it to someone in their current graduating class of Judges as a qualifying exam.

If you are feeling ballsy, you can download the past three standard years' navigational data from certain corners of the HoloNet, average it together, and instruct your ship to ignore the current hazard updates provided by Calipsa Run navbuoys. It will usually work out fine.

Purpose / Function

1. connects Estaph System to Calipsa System
2. Estaph System, Nella System, and Port Santiago are all in Mecetti Province
3. Grella System, Dampher System, New Javis System, and Calipsa System are all in Calipsa Province. Pay transit tariffs to House VorCalipsa if bringing materials into the province.
4. At Calipsa, one can switch over to Cazne Way which passes the rimward end of the Shapani Run; Vorinnis Lane over through Shifa System into Coorimbus System; or stay on the final leg of the Calipsa Run up to Riesa System and Jinda System.
